SUPERSearch  Want to use the latest technology to find the best information for homework and research projects? Use SUPERSearch! It searches most of Heartland’s online databases at the same time. Ask your school’s librarian for username and password!

Merrill Library Catalog  Search for books at your school library in the Destiny online catalog as a guest or login with your student email address ( and password to access other features. To view checked out materials and due dates, click on the “My Info” tab.

Begin research projects in Destiny Quest with the new “One Search” feature which gives Heartland database results, along with educator review websites and books in the Merrill library – all in one search!

eBooks – Self-checkout, read online from the eBook and audiobook collections, or download to your personal device.

Follett eBooks – access to over 1,600 eBooks and audiobooks
After selecting Location (Iowa) and School (Merrill), students login with their email address ( and their computer password

MackinVIA – access to over 2,000 eBooks and audiobooks
Login with Heartland database username and password (contact your school’s librarian to get a username and password.)

Heartland AEA 11 Online library and resources- Heartland Area Education Agency works in partnership with public and accredited private schools to provide educational services, programs, and resources for improving student achievement and building cultural competence. Heartland AEA staff members serve preschool children, K-12 students, families, educators, and sometimes entire communities. Heartland AEA also funds about 180 special education staff positions for the Des Moines Public Schools.
