Attendance & Records Requests from Merrill
Attendance/Records Clerk: Joyce Grace
Hours: 8:00 AM – 3:45 PM
If your Merrill student has moved out of the district, please have your student’s new school fax a signed “Records Request” form to the number above.
How to Report Your Student’s Absence
If your student is going to be absent, arriving late, or leaving early, please contact the attendance office at the number above before 8:00 AM the day of the absence. If you know in advance that your student will be absent or has an appointment, you may call or send a note with your student before the absence date. This will assist the attendance clerk in clarifying her records and avoid a phone call to your home. You may also e-mail Mrs. Grace at the address above. For medical absences including doctors, dentists, or other appointments, please send a note from the doctor or dentist with your student when returning from an appointment. This will prevent an “unexcused absence.”
If you are picking up your student early, he/she must be signed out in the attendance office by a parent, guardian, or other adult designated by the parent/guardian and listed with the school as an emergency contact. Students are able to sign themselves in when arriving late or returning from an appointment. Please read the 2018-19 Student Attendance Procedures or Spanish Version. Or you may contact the Attendance Center at 515-242-8358 with any questions.
Thank you in advance for your compliance with the DMPS Attendance Policies andPprocedures!
