I have been a library associate for DMPS for 23 years, working at all levels-elementary, middle, and high school-in five different schools. The 2022-23 school year marks my 13th year at Merrill. Opening a box of new library books and connecting them to students is one of my great joys. I have worked to create a collection that is representative of our student population and experiences. I am married with three adult kids (all DMPS graduates) and 4 grandchildren. I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling to Texas and Washington state where two of my kids live. I also enjoy reading, gardening, walking, and bird watching.

Deb Marriott was raised on a farm in Tama County, graduated from ISU and taught science for DMPS from 1976 to 2016 .  She and her husband adopted 2 sons from Thailand (now in their 30’s).
