Interested in joining a sport at Merrill? Check out the different sports pages to the right! Each page contains information about the sport, meet schedules, and coach contact details. Remember, if you or your student have any Sports related questions,  don’t hesitate to reach out to Mr. Luft, our student engagement coordinator.

Requirements to participate in a sport:

  1. Participation in any sport requires a current sports physical on file with our school nurse, Kelli Luft. Physicals are good for 13 months. There are several free options offered in the community. Some DMPS schools offer free clinics sponsored by The Iowa Clinic ahead of each sports season in the fall and at conference times. Please watch for information about those clinics when it is posted on Infinite Campus and School CNXT.
  2. Sports Registration form (If not completed during Online Registration at the beginning of the school year)
  3. Starting with the 2023-2024 school year, there is no longer a Participation fee required for your student to participate in sports. However, with a mission of involving 100% of our student body in activities and sports, we are committed to providing a wide variety of programs that meet every interest and ability! If you’d like to help us achieve this mission, please consider donating here.
